Welcome back to School

I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the Grade 6 teacher at Lamont Elementary. Over the past 22 years, I have had the privilege of teaching students in ECS through grades 5, as well as, grades 7 to 9. However, this is my first year with grade 6. Fortunately, I have been gifted with the best group of students to embark on this adventure!

I began my career a continent away in rural Japan, before landing in Prairie Land Regional School Division, where I had the opportunity to teach for over 20 years, in a variety of schools and positions. My family recently relocated to Fort Saskatchewan. Last year, I was blessed to start my journey with Elk Island Public Schools at Win Ferguson Elementary. After an amazing year in grade 1, I was blessed again, when presented with the opportunity to return to my "rural roots" here in Lamont!

A dear friend posted, "The meaning of life it to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." This resonated with me as I am never happier than when I am in a classroom surrounded by children. I look forward to a memorable 2017-2018 school year!

Communication/Remind

Experience has taught me that communication is key to a successful school year. Therefore, I encourage you to contact me should you ever have a question or concern. You are welcome to email me at: tammy.marks@eips.ca or call me at the school at: 780-895-2269.

In addition, our class uses Remind to allow you to receive text messages or email notifications about homework or important class events. Information on how to subscribe was sent home in the Welcome Package. However, if you missed signing up, and would still like to, please contact me. Remember, this is optional, as students will also be using their agendas.

Link to Class Webpage

Our class webpage will be up and running in the next week or two! Please check back to find the link that will help you keep up to date with all that is happening in Class 6-1. In addition, you will find links to sites that can assist your child with Reading, Writing, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Science and French.
